Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Try me, and know my anxieties;
And see if there is any wicked way in me,
And lead me in the way everlasting. (Psalm 139:23–24, NKJV)

These words are similar to those of Psalm19:14. David asks God to examine his thoughts and purge him of sin so that he might enter into everlasting life. (NKJV Study Bible annotation)

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer. (Psalm 19:14, NKJV)

As I contemplate these verses, I am reminded of Principle Seven and Step Ten of Celebrate Recovery.

Principle 7

Reserve a daily time with God for self-examination, Bible reading, and prayer in order to know God and His will for my life and to gain the power to follow His will. (Eight Principles Based on the Beatitudes by Pastor Rick Warren)

Step 10

We continued to take personal inventory and, when we were wrong, promptly admitted it. (Twelve Steps and Their Biblical Comparisons)

So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! (1 Corinthians 10:12, NIV)
